Some Questions Answered
It’s 3:53 AM but before I go to sleep - I have to answer some questions people have raised about this challenge:
1. Can I link to my new project from an existing site?
Well - This is not a competition. This is a joint effort to get people going after their dreams… so I guess there is no real “cheating” here.
I don’t see any harm in linking to a new site from an existing one beside the fact that complete newbie’s will not be able to follow in your footsteps, having said that I have to add in the future I will also be using “established sites” to help new sites rank better in the Search Engines.
2. Making money from your blog is unethical… a blog is a labor of love…
Well… if your blog is a labor of love… why don’t you learn how to use it to make a living out of something you love?
Why work on your blog at night after working for 10 hours at a job you hate (Helping your boss earn more every month), instead of enjoying every minute while you build your online income and the life of your dreams?
3. Is this challenge only about blogs?
No, this challenge is about making money online.
Blogs, PPC, Content sites… adsense… anything goes.
As long as it’s fair… as long as it’s a new project…
You’ve read the guidelines.
Blogs have taken a major role in this challenge because they have become an amazing opportunity for online profits.
4. Making money online seems dirty…
This challenge is not about using Black Hat methods for making money online. It is not about email spam, SE spam, Spyware affiliate commissions etc.
If your site provides valuable content for your visitors… If someone is willing to pay you (and Google) to get your visitor to click over to their site, based on your content… what is wrong with that?
What’s so wrong about affiliate marketing, if you’ve recommended the perfect product for your visitor and he makes the purchase?
There are so many people online… Looking for content and advice… if you help these people and get paid in the process. I see no harm in that.
Help others get what they want… and You will get what you want.
That’s it for now.

How come the blogroll never has the “updated!” tag next the blogs anymore? They used too… maybe you should get them to ping blogrolling when they post?

I already ping just about every possible ping site when my blog is updated - it may actually be a problem with blogrolling - couldn’t tell you though.
I’ve just created a new channel (folder) in my feed reader labeled “$100 Day” and added all the people on the blogroll to that channel and I check it every few days to see the progress.
For the most part - there haven’t been too many updates (which could be another reason for the blogroll to not update).

I disabled that feature, once I saw that a lot of the blogs are not pinging blogrolling.
Noticing that - I was afraid people would not visit these blogs, thinking they were simply not updated.

Nadav - would it be fun to have a little chat online - I have a 20 room web conference room so we could have all the challenge participants get together and have a brainstorm - if people don’t have microphones they can type like in MSN Messenger.
I’m sure we all have some tips and tactics and recommended resources others could learn from.
If you think this sounds good then drop me an email at pauls.challenge (at) ntlworld.com and we can try and sort something out.
Hope your progress is going well.

Hey - that’s not such a bad idea
. I would love to be in on a conference call like that (hmmm…reminds me, it’s time for me to update my blog)

I’ve sent Paul an email…
We’ll arrange something.

I’ve got my own conference room we can use if you wish. Although I realize this post is about 8 days late since the last comment, you are all welcome to visit if you would like to try it. Being in Australia, it’s unlikely that I can meld in with your timing for this, (unless on a weekend) but no matter, you are free to use the room anyway. Send me an email if you want the link to try it out.
